Almanac Texas

Here is an environmental map of Texas for all concerned citizens and policymakers. Compiled by the Texas Center for Policy Studies, this almanac provides crucial and comprehensive information on the state's land, air, water, energy use, and waste generation gathered from a wide range of state and federal agencies, environmental organizations, and historical and scientific reference sources. The almanac is designed for quick, easy reference by the public, as well as by scientists and government officials and policymakers. Extensively updated since the first edition, it addresses such key issues as the quantity and quality of the state's environmental resources, present rates of consumption, and future levels of demand. This vital baseline information will help all Texans understand the current condition of our state's environmental health and plan for our future environmental well-being.

The Texas Almanac has been the ultimate resource of life in Texas for 150 years. First published in 1857, the Texas Almanac 2006-2007 is the book's Sesquicentennial Edition. To mark this anniversary, the entire book has been printed in color. Especially significant are the many colorful and updated maps of Texas and each of its 254 counties. These unique county maps show relief, major and minor roads, waterways, parks, and other attractions.
